SHORT HISTORY
This section of the site deals with A&BC Chewing Gum Ltd. football card sets from the years 1967 - 1974, that I have in my collection. I do not know a lot about the history of A&BC but as far as I am aware the first football card set they produced was in 1958, although from research I believe the company was originally formed in 1949.
The company has become one of the most favoured card manufacturers amongst collectors, including myself, due to the colourful and imaginative design shown throughout their 16 year history of football card production (1958 - 1974).
Unfortunately in June 1974, after many years of disputes with Topps, an expensive month of litigation and a lost case in the High Court meant that the business had to be wound up as per their licence agreement.
