1970 WORLD CUP NAMED BOXES

The 1970 World Cup competition saw all the 16 qualifying nations being available for purchase in named boxes. Unlike previous years the 1970 teams came with the goalkeeper on a plastic rod, in lieu of a metal one. The list below shows the 16 teams and their respective colours. The number range in 1970 only reached 75, with Brazil already being part of this range. With the exception of Israel ( Ref.113), the rest of these teams were added to the team charts around 1973.(Refs.151 - 166).

The Gallery below show the photos of the 12 named boxes in my collection with the other 4 team boxes (Brazil, Bulgaria, Italy and Uruguay) only being of the numbered variety.

I have also included a photo of Hungary Ref.281 in a named box at the bottom of the page which I possess, although they did not qualify for the 1970 World Cup.
